VISION DEFECTS AND DRIVING CAPABILITY
SEHSTOERUNGEN UND KRAFTFAHRTAUGLICHKEIT
5150 OPHTHALMOLOGICAL ASSESSMENTS OF DRIVING CAPABILITY WERE ANALYSED BY COMPUTER IN CONJUNCTION WITH RELEVANT DRIVING HISTORIES. FROM A CORRELATION OF THE TWO SETS OF DATA IT WAS POSSIBLE TO DRAW SOME LIMITED CONCLUSIONS AS TO THE SIGNIFICANCE OF VISION DEFECTS IN RELATION TO ACCIDENT STATISTICS. DEFECTS OF BINOCULAR VISION LEAD TO REDUCED DRIVING CAPABILITY, BUT SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT CONCLUSIONS ARE TO BE DRAWN IN RELATION TO COLOUR-BLINDNESS.
