STATIC LOAD CONTACT PRESSURE PATTERNS UNDER AIRPLANE TIRES
THE LOAD TRANSMISSION DEVICE WAS USED TO DETERMINE THE LOAD DISTRIBUTION PATTERN UNDER AIRPLANE TIRES. THIS WAS FOUND TO BE APPROXIMATELY AN ELLIPSOID FOR RATED TIRE LOADS. METHODS ARE SHOWN FOR ESTIMATING CONTACT PRESSURES ON PLATES AND SUBGRADES. THE CONTACT PRESSURE PATTERN IS SHOWN FOR SELECTED TIRE LOADS AND TIRE PRESSURES. /AUTHOR/
