APPLICATION OF RESEARCH TO MARINE PROTECTION SYSTEMS
Principles of corrosion protection of ships hulls, tanks and other parts are explained on the basis of the barrier action of protective coatings and the application of the principles of absorption and diffusion processes of liquids into and through films. Criteria for selecting coating materials, based on these scientific principles, are given and the economic factors relating to coatings are explained considering coats of materials and labor and frequency of repainting.
