TECHNICAL INSPECTION FOR SAFETY HAS SHOWN THAT A MAGNETICALLY SUSPENDED RAILWAY IS A COMPLEX, HIGHLY INTEGRATED SYSTEM WHICH CANNOT BE SEPARATED INTO INDIVIDUAL COMPONENTS, OR AT LEAST ONLY SLIGHTLY, WHEN SAFETY HAS TO BE CONSIDERED. HOWEVER, SAFETY WORK RELATED TO THE CATEGORIES OF SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY, TESTING AND ACCEPTANCE CAN BE COARSELY CLASSIFIED. SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY MEANS THAT SPECIAL OBSERVATIONS, CHECKS AND STUDIES HAVE TO BE MADE ON THE WHOLE FACILITY, FOR WHICH THERE ARE NO PERTINENT AND COMPREHENSIVE RULES OR LEGAL SPECIFICATIONS. ASPECTS SPECIFIC TO THE SYSTEM ALSO COME WITHIN THE CATEGORIES OF TESTING AND ACCEPTANCE. THESE CAN HOWEVER BE TREATED WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF CONVENTIONAL TESTING.
