THE SOLUTION OF A PROBLEM FOR COMMUNAL ROAD CONSTRUCTION - CONCRETE WITH PLASTICIZER

URBAN ROADS SUBJECTED TO FREQUENT BRAKING, ESPECIALLY NEAR TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT STOPS, ARE UNDER PARTICULAR HEAVY LOADING AND THEY TEND TO DEFORM. AS AN EXAMPLE A TRAFFIC CROSSING IN FRANKFURT IS QUOTED, WHICH WAS MADE OF 18 CM OF BITUMEN-GRAVEL 0/32, 8.5 CM BINDER 0/16 AND 0/11 AND 3.5 CM GUSSASPHALT 0/8. AFTER REPEATED REPAIRS OF THE SURFACING, AN EARLY HIGH STRENGTH CONCRETE WITH PLASTICIZER WAS LAID, WHICH REACHED A"ENGTM CONCRETE OF 25 N/MM2 AFTER 24 HOURS AND CAN BE USED FOR TRAFFIC IN TWO DAYS. THERE ARE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE COMPOSITION OF THE CONCRETE MIX WITH THE ADDITION OF "ADDIMENTS BVF" AT A LEVEL OF 3% BY WEIGHT OF CEMENT, THE LAYING FROM TRUCK MIXERS BY HAND SCREEDER, AFTER-TREATMENT AND THE EXECUTION OF JOINTS. EARLY HIGH STRENGTH CONCRETE IS USED ALSO FOR RE-MAKING CARRIAGEWAYS AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN BROKEN UP FOR SERVICES. THE COSTS FOR THIS SIMPLE MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF CONCRETE IS NO GREATER THAN THAT OF A COMPARABLE BITUMINOUS CONSTRUCTION.
