POSSIBILITIES AND LIMITS OF THE RECONSTRUCTION OF ACCIDENT EVENTS

FOR THE CLARIFICATION OF THE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, THERE MUST BE PRECISE INVESTIGATIONS AT THE SCENE OF THE EVENT, IN PARTICULAR A STUDY OF THE TRAFFIC LANES, THE DAMAGE TO THE OTHER VEHICLES, VERIFICATION OF THE FINAL POSITION OF THE OTHER VEHICLE, OF AREAS OF FRAGMENTS, DIRT DISTRIBUTION IN THE AREA OF THE COLLISION AND IN THE CASE OF PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE ACCIDENTS, INITIAL POSITION AND FINAL POSITION OF THE PERSON STRUCK. THE BASES OF THE CALCULATION DATA FOR COLLISION MECHANICS AND THE PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS ARE GIVEN AND THESE ARE CLARIFIED BY EXAMPLES. THE LIMIT OF POSSIBILITIES FOR EXPERT ACCIDENT EVIDENCE ARE DEMONSTRATED.
