INVESTIGATIONS MADE ON DAMAGED PAVEMENTS CONCLUDE THAT TRAFFIC VOLUME AND THICKNESS OF SLAB FORM PRINCIPAL SOURCES FOR DAMAGE TO CONCRETE PAVEMENTS. A REPORT IS GIVEN ON MEASURING APPARATUSES AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN OBSERVED EVENNESS OF VARIOUS KINDS OF ROADS AND COEFFICIENT OF COMFORT. THE RELATIONSHIP IS DESCRIBED OF COMFORT COEFFICIENT AND A CRITICAL POINT WHERE REPAIR IS NEEDED. DESCRIPTION IS GIVEN OF SURFACE SKIDDING, ITS MEASURING APPARATUSES AND FRICTION COEFFICIENT OF VARIOUS KINDS OF PAVEMENT. A DESCRIPTION IS GIVEN OF DRAINAGE DESIGN OF MEDIUM FACE OF SLOPES & ROAD-BEDS FOR EXPRESSWAYS. REPAIRS RESURFACING OR RELAYING ARE DISCUSSED FROM AN ECONOMIC POINT OF VIEW.
