ESTIMATING THE DISTRIBUTION OF AXLE WEIGHTS FOR SELECTED PARAMETERS

TRUCK WEIGHT DATA TAKEN IN 1960 THROUGH 1963 BY THE PLANNING SURVEY DIVISION OF THE TEXAS HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT WAS ANALYZED. LOADOMETER STATIONS WERE GROUPED ACCORDING TO DIFFERENT PARAMETERS. EQUIVALENT 18-KIP SINGLE AXLE APPLICATIONS WERE CALCULATED AT EACH OF THREE LOCATIONS USING EACH OF THREE PROCEDURES FOR ESTIMATING AXLE WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION. TRUCK TRAFFIC CHARACTERISTICS OF SEVEN TYPES OF TRUCKS WERE REPORTED.
