PROPOSED RESEARCH RELATING TO COMPOSITE PAVEMENTS
SPECIFIC AREAS ARE ENUMERATED IN WHICH KNOWLEDGE IS DEFICIENT REGARDING STRESS IN COMPOSITE PAVEMENTS. LAMINATED STRUCTURES SHOULD BE MORE CAPABLE OF PREVENTING STRESS CONCENTRATIONS OR STRESS-RISERS, OF REDISTRIBUTING STRESSES, OF MOBILIZING MORE UNIFORM FIBER-STRESSES AND OF RELIEVING THERMAL STRESSES THAN A SOLID MONO-LAYER WOULD BE. SUGGESTIONS ARE OFFERED HERE TO SUPPLEMENT PRECEDING PROPOSALS REGARDING EXPERIMENTAL PAVEMENTS. REFERENCES' WARPING STRESSES AND DEFLECTIONS IN CONCRETE PAVEMENTS' PART II, J. F. WISEMAN, M. E.
