CALIFORNIA DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS PRECEDURE FOR DESIGNING COMPOSITE PAVEMENTS
THE CALIFORNIA METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE DESIGN THICKNESS FOR FLEXIBLE AND COMPOSITE TYPE PAVEMENTS IS REVIEWED MATHEMATICALLY. THE TENSILE STRENGTH OR COHESION OF THE VARIOUS LAYERS MAKING UP THE STRUCTURAL SECTION IS EVALUATED. THE DESIGN VALUES ARE ESTABLISHED FROM A LARGE NUMBER OF COHESIOMETER TESTS, CORRELATION WITH TEST TRACK DATA AND CORRELATION WITH HIGHWAY EXPERIENCE.
