ESTABLISHMENT OF VEGETATION ON SUBSOILS
AN EXPERIMENT DESIGNED TO SCREEN AND SELECT GRASSES, LEGUMES AND GROUND COVERS FOR SUBSOIL PLANTING SITES ON SLOPES WAS CONDUCTED. ITEMS INCLUDED IN THE INITIAL STUDY WERE 20 MIXTURES OF GRASSES AND LEGUMES AND MORE THAN 150 GROUND COVER SELECTIONS. FOUR YEARS AFTER ESTABLISHMENT, FIVE SEEDING MIXTURES AND TEN GROUND COVERS ARE PROVIDING LOW MAINTENANCE, EROSION RESISTANT COVERS. /AUTHOR/
