SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES FOR FUTURE ROADSIDE DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH
IT IS SUGGESTED THAT BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF SERVICE STATIONS AND FOOD AND LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS ON THE INTER- STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEMS, SAFETY REST AREAS BE PROVIDED. THE LOCATION AND SPACING, SIZE, ADJOINING PROPERTY USAGE, DESIGN, LAYOUT, AND FACILITIES ARE DISCUSSED. THREE TYPES OF REST AREAS ARE OUTLINED WITH DIFFERENT DEGREES OF SERVICE.
