MANNING N FOR CAST-IN-PLACE CONCRETE PIPE
TWO-HUNDRED EIGHTY-ONE INDEPENDENT TESTS WERE MADE IN IRRIGATION CAST-IN-PLACE PIPELINES DURING 1964-66 IN A COOPERATIVE PROGRAM BETWEEN THE SALT RIVER PROJECT IN ARIZONA AND THE UNITED STATES BUREAU OF RECLAMATION. SEVENTEEN DIFFERENT PIPELINE REACHES OF VARIOUS LENGTHS, DIAMETERS, AND AGES WERE SELECTED FOR TESTING. NINETY-ONE PERCENT OF THE TESTS RESULTED IN COMPUTED N VALUES OF LESS THAN 0.014, THE RECOMMENDED VALUE FOR DESIGN, 86% OF THE TESTS HAD VALUES LESS THAN 0.013. /ASCE/
