HYDRAULIC JUMPS BELOW ABRUPT SYMMETRICAL EXPANSIONS
AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY HAS BEEN MADE OF THE R-JUMP AND S- JUMP OCCURRING BELOW ABRUPT SYMMETRICAL EXPANSIONS IN RECTANGULAR CHANNELS. A NEW CHARACTERISTIC LENGTH HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO CORRELATE THE MEAN FLOW CHARACTERISTICS OF THE S-JUMP. THE S-JUMP HAS BEEN TREATED AS A THREE-DIMENSIONAL TURBULENT WALL JET. /ASCE/
