REPORT OF SPECIAL INVESTIGATION OF USE OF RAIL STEEL REINFORCEMENT BARS IN HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION
THIS INVESTIGATION WAS MADE BY MEMBERS OF THE HIGHWAY RESEARCH BOARD STAFF CONSISTING OF R. W. CRUM, DIRECTOR, FRED BURGGRAF, RESEARCH ENGINEER, AND C. E. PEARCE, SPECIAL INVESTIGATOR. THE DATA SECURED BY THE INVESTIGATORS, WITH THEIR ANALYSES, WERE SUBMITTED TO A COMMITTEE APPOINTED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE HIGHWAY RESEARCH BOARD. THE REPORT IS DIVIDED INTO 5 CHAPTERS: (1) COMMITTEE FINDINGS, (2) AN ANALYSIS OF ROUTINE PHYSICAL TESTS OF RAIL STEEL BARS, (3) THE UNIFORMITY OF A "HEAT" OF RAIL STEEL VANS, (4) ANALYSIS OF TESTS OF RAIL STEEL REINFORCING BARS, AND (5) DISCUSSION.
