TEST LOADING OF A FULL SCALE BRIDGE
RESULTS OF TESTS ON A FULL SCALE BRIDGE ARE PRESENTED AND THE BEHAVIOR IS COMPARED WITH THAT PREDICTED BY VARIOUS ACCEPTED DESIGN METHODS. TESTS INCLUDED STATIC LOADING IN THE ELASTIC AND NON-ELASTIC RANGES AND DYNAMIC LOADING WITH A MOVING VEHICLE. ULTIMATE LOAD CONDITIONS WERE STUDIED WITH ECCENTRIC LANE LOADING PRODUCING EFFECTIVE FLEXURAL FAILURE IN THE BEAMS WHILE LOCAL EFFECTS WERE INVESTIGATED BY SIMULATED AXLE AND WHEEL LOADS APPLIED TO THE DECK SLAB. /AUTHOR/
