THE SKIDDING RESISTANCE OF THICK MARKINGS /IN GERMAN/
ROADWAY MARKINGS MUST BE CLEARLY VISIBLE DURING NIGHT AND DAY, RESISTANT TO TRAFFIC, CLIMATE, AND WINTER SERVICES, ALLOW REMARKING, AND BE SKID RESISTANT. SKIDDING RESISTANCE MEASUREMENTS CARRIED OUT WITH THE LEROUX PENDULUM DEVICE ON THICH MARKINGS WHICH HAD BEEN LAID 2 YEARS YIELDED THE FOLLOWING RESULTS: HOT PLASTICS (LARGE DISPERSION, AVERAGE TO GOOD), COLD PLASTICS (BAD TO AVERAGE), AND FOILS (ON THE WHOLE BAD). PRACTICAL MEASUREMENTS HAVE YIELDED SIMILAR RESULTS, AND IN SOME CASES BETTER RESULTS AS REGARDS HOT PLASTICS. /TRRL/
