METHOD FOR THE ASSESSMENT AND MEASUREMENT OF THE SKIDDING RESISTANCE OF ROADS /IN GERMAN/
SKIDDING RESISTANCE IS INFLUENCE BY THE CONDITION OF THE ROAD SURFACE, THE TIRES, AND FACTORS SUCH AS WATER AND DIRT. THE USE OF SLIPPERINESS MEASURING DEVICES SUCH AS THE AUTOMATIC STUTTGART FRICTIONMETER, THE IMPROVED ENGLISH PENDULUM DEVICE, THE OUTFLOWMETER, AND THE COMBINED PENDULUM AND OUTFLOW METER IS DESCRIBED. RESULTS OBTAINED WITH LARGE AND PORTABLE EQUIPMENT ARE COMPARED. AT THE MOMENT THERE ARE NO EXPERIMENTS BEING CARRIED OUT CONCERNING FRICTION COEFFICIENTS AT OPTIMUM SLIP. MEASUREMENTS CARRIED OUT WITH THE PENDULUM DEVICE AGREE BEST WITH MEASUREMENTS WITH THE BLOCKED SLIDING WHEEL. /TRRL/
