PRINCIPLES AND USE OF THE FULL DEPTH ASPHALT STRUCTURE
THE AUTHOR DISCUSSES THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH FROST ACTION IN PAVEMENTS, THE DAMAGE RESULTING FROM THIS FROST ACTION, AND WAYS OF PREVENTING IT. THE REPLACEMENT OF THE UNBOUND FROST BLANKET BY ASPHALT LAYERS APPEARS TECHNICALLY FEASIBLE AND CAN BE JUSTIFIED ECONOMICALLY. A SHORT REPORT IS GIVEN OF THE STATE OF THE ART ABROAD AND OF EXPERIMENTS WITH THE METHOD BEING CARRIED OUT IN GERMANY. /TRRL/
