ANALYSIS OF EXPANSION JOINT SPACING IN RIGID PAVEMENT
THE SPACING OF EXPANSION JOINT IN CONCRETE PAVEMENT IS STILL A HIGHLY CONTROVERSIAL SUBJECT AND DIFFERENT COUNTRIES FOLLOW WIDELY DIFFERENT PRACTICES. THE DIFFERENT PARAMETERS INVOLVED ARE ANALYZED. A METHOD IS PRESENTED TO CALCULATE THE MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE SPACING OF EXPANSION JOINTS. THE FINDINGS HAVE BEEN COMPARED WITH THE PRACTICES FOLLOWED IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AND ARE GIVEN IN GRAPHICAL FORM. /AUTHOR/
