SCALE MODEL STUDY OF THE CONTRIBUTION OF TRANSVERSE GIRDERS IN LATTICE BRIDGES
RESEARCH WAS CONDUCTED ON MODELS, INCLUDING A LATTICE BRIDGE ANALYSIS, TO DETERMINE THE INFLUENCE OF THE NUMBER OF TRANSVERSE GIRDERS IN THE TRANSVERSE DISTRIBUTION OF A LOAD APPLIED OVER THIS TYPE OF STRUCTURE. EIGHT TYPES OF MODELS WERE STUDIED: (1) STRAIGHT LATTICE IN FOUR MAIN BEAMS WITH ONE, TWO OR THREE TRANSVERSE GIRDERS, (2) PLATE LATTICE WITH UPPER SLAB, FOUR MAIN BEAMS AND WITH ONE, TWO OR THREE TRANSVERSE GIRDERS, (3) STRUCTURAL WITH FOUR MAIN BEAMS AND UPPER SLAB, AND (4) CELLULAR STRUCTURE. /RRI/
