TRIAL RESULTS OF THE NORMANNIA
The trial results, for the ballast and loaded conditions, of the second ship in the Blohm and Voss Pioneer series are compared with the trial results of her sister ship in the ballast condition. In view of the vessels unconventional hull form, speed and power measurements on the trial trips of both ships were carefully carried out by a team from Hamburg Model Basin. Measurements were taken with the ship in ballast condition. Because of the importance of ships speed and power requirement in the loaded condition, these measurements were also carried out on the first voyage of Normannia.
