EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON THE HORIZONTAL RESISTANCE OF COUPLED PILES
EXISTING METHODS OF ANALYSIS OF COUPLED PILES SUBJECTED TO HORIZONTAL FORCES ARE DISCUSSED. A NEW METHOD OF ANALYSIS USING THE RESULTS OF LOAD TESTS, OR THE ESTIMATED LOAD-DISPLACEMENT CURVES, ON A SINGLE VERTICAL PILE IS PROPOSED. TO TEST THIS METHOD, A SERIES OF LABORATORY LOAD TESTS ON MODEL COUPLED PILES WERE CARRIED OUT AND THE RESULTS ARE DISCUSSED IN RELATION TO DATA FROM IN-SITU LOAD TESTS ON COUPLED PILES. /RRL/
