TWO HUNDRED AND NINTEY-NINE REFERENCES ON THE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF THIN-WALLED BEAMS ARE REVIEWED, EMPHASIS BEING PLACED ON BOX BEAMS USED IN BRIDGE AND ELEVATED ROADWAY CONSTRUCTION. WARPING AND DISTORTION OF CROSS-SECTION ARE CONSIDERED, AND EXPERIMENTAL WORK IS DESCRIBED. DESIGN RECOMMENDATIONS ARE GIVEN AND SUGGESTIONS MADE FOR FUTURE RESEARCH. /RRL(A)/
