TORSIONAL ANALYSIS OF SINGLE THIN-WALLED TRAPEZOIDAL CONCRETE BOX-GIRDER BRIDGE
A METHOD IS PRESENTED FOR THE TORSIONAL ANALYSIS OF SINGLE, THIN-WALLED, TRAPEZOIDAL OR RECTANGULAR CONCRETE BOX-GIRDER BRIDGES WHICH ARE SYMMETRICAL ABOUT THE VERTICAL AXIS OF THE CROSS-SECTIONS. THE EFFECTS RESULTING FROM THE DISTORTION OF THE CROSS-SECTIONS ARE ISOLATED AND INVESTIGATED INDEPENDENTLY BY THE USE OF PURE-SHEAR FORCE SYSTEMS. ALL OF THE STRESS AND DEFORMATION PARAMETERS ARE EXPRESSED IN TERMS OF ONLY ONE UNKNOWN, NAMELY, THE IN-PLANE DEFLECTION OF THE WEBS. THE BASIC EQUATIONS ARE, THEREBY FORMULATED, FROM WHICH SOULTIONS ARE GIVEN FOR SEVERAL PRACTICAL CASES. /RRL/A/
