SHEAR TESTS ON CONCRETE I - BEAMS WITH STIRRUP REINFORCEMENT
SHEAR TESTS WERE CONDUCTED ON SIXTEEN PRESTRESSED AND REINFORCED CONCRETE I-BEAMS. EACH TEST BEAM WAS OVER- REINFORCED AGAINST SHEAR FAILURE IN ALL BUT A DESIGNATED 'TEST REGION' EXTENDING IN-SPAN FROM THE SUPPORT, WHERE THE MODE OF FAILURE AND STIRRUP REINFORCEMENT REQUIREMENTS WERE STUDIED EXPERIMENTALLY. RESULTS OF THE TESTS WERE ANALYZED AND USED TO EVALUATE THE APPLICABILITY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE SAA CODE FOR PRESTRESSED CONCRETE (CA35) FOR THE DESIGN OF WEB REINFORCEMENT. /RRL/A/
