DURABILITY OF CONCRETE BRIDGES DECKS
A DETAILED INVESTIGATION WAS CONDUCTED OF BRIDGE DECKS IN MICHIGAN. DISCUSSIONS ARE PRESENTED ON SCALING, CRACKING AND SPALLING OBSERVED IN FIELD STUDIES AND LABORATORY STUDIES OF THE CORES. PETROGRAPHIC AND LINEAR TRAVERSE STUDIES WERE CONDUCTED OF THE CORES. MEASUREMENTS OF CONCRETE COVER OVER REINFORCING STEEL ARE DISCUSSED. RESULTS OF HIGH-PRESSURE DETERMINATIONS ARE REPORTED OF AIR CONTENTS IN COMPANION CORES TO THOSE ON WHICH LINEAR TRAVERSE MEASUREMENTS WERE MADE.
