SESSION 3: REPORT OF THE FIP COMMISSION ON DURABILITY
A WORLD-WIDE SURVEY HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT TO EXAMINE THE STATE OF PRESTRESSED STRUCTURES AND HAS SHOWN AN EXTREMELY LOW PROPORTION OF CASES CAUSING CONCERN OUT OF THE 200,000 STRUCTURES EXAMINED. AS A RESULT OF ITS DELIBERATIONS, THE COMMISSION HAS PREPARED FIVE SUMMARIES, GIVING SUGGESTIONS FOR AVOIDING DAMAGE DUE TO CHEMICAL AND ELECTROLYTIC ATTACK AND PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN WHEN USING HIGH ALUMINA CEMENTS. RECOMMENDATIONS DEALING WITH GROUT AND GROUTING, PREVIOUSLY PREPARED BY A JOINT FIP/RILEM COMMITTEE, HAVE BEEN REVISED. /AUTHOR/
