BOND BETWEEN STEEL AND CONCRETE
PULLOUT TESTS HAVE IN THE PAST BEEN USED TO EVALUATE THE BOND BETWEEN STEEL AND CONCRETE. A THEORETICAL ANLYSIS OF THE PULLOUT TEST IS PRESENTED, WHICH IS BASED ON THE THEORY OF ELASTICITY. BOND STRESSES ARE FOUND TO DEPEND ON THE MODULI OF ELASTICITY ANDATHE POISSON'S RATIOS OF BOTH STEEL AND CONCRETE. IT IS N THAT THE POISSON'S RATIO IS NOT OF PRIME IMPORTANCE AND A QUALITATIVE STRESS DISTRIBUTION IS OBTAINED H DEPENDS ONLY ON THE YOUNG'S MODULUS OF THE CONCRETE. /TRRL/
