THE SCOPE, OBJECTIVE, AND RESEARCH TASK PLAN OF A PROJECT TO ELIMINTAE SPALLING AND DELAMINATION OF CONCRETE BRIDGE DECKS CORRODED BY DE-ICERS ARE DESCRIBED. FOUR APPROACHES ARE UNDER CONSIDERATION; (1) SACRIFICIAL ANODES; (2) METHODS TO NEUTRALIZE CHLORIDES BY CONCRETE ADDITIVES; (3) CONCRETE DENSIFICATION TO REDUCE CHLORIDE MIGRATION; (4) ELIMINATION OF STRAY CURRENTS TO REDUCE CORROSION OF REINFORCING STEEL.
