DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF HIGHWAY BRIDGES TO MOVING LOADS
THE BEHAVIOR OF BEAM AND SLAB HIGHWAY BRIDGES, UNDER THE ACTION OF MOVING LOADS, IS STUDIED BY MEANS OF THE ORTHOTROPIC PLATE THEORY. THE MOVING LOAD IS IDEALISED AS A MASS-SPRING SYSTEM. THE EQUATIONS OF MOTION FOR THE PROBLEM ARE SOLVED NUMERICALLY BY THE RUNGE-KUTTA-NYSTROM METHOD. THE RESULTS ARE PRESENTED IN THE FORM OF AMPLIFICATION SPECTRA AND HISTORY CURVES. /TRRL/
