THE CURRENT PAVEMENT ON STEEL DECKS IN JAPAN
A PAVEMENT CONDITION SURVEY WAS MADE ON 21 BRIDGES IN JAPAN WITH STEEL DECKS. ASPHALTIC CONCRETE PAVEMENT WITH PASTED METAL FOIL INSULATION LAYER PROVED TO BE A RELIABLE SURFACING. RUBBERIZED ASPHALT AND TAR RUBBER EMULSION PROVIDED ADEQUATE BONDING BETWEEN PAVEMENT AND BRIDGE DECK.
