BRITISH AUTOMATIC IN-LINE PLATE TESTER FOR EAST GERMAN

In answer to increasing demands for consistently high-quality steel plates intensive efforts have been made in East Germany and elsewhere, to develop an ultrasonic tester that can establish the soundness, or otherwise, of plate early in the production line. That this goal is now much nearer, if not actually attained, was evident at a recent demonstration by Ultrasonoscope Co, at its London plant, of automatic in-line plate tester which it has built for installation in an East German plate mill.
