DIFFICULTIES INVOLVED IN THE MANUFACTURE OF READY-MIXED CONCRETE FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION ARE DISCUSSED WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO QUALITY REQUIREMNTS, TRANSPORT AND MIXING TIMES THE TIMING OF UNLOADING AND LAYING IN RELATION TO WATER ADMIXTURE AND THE EFFECT OF THE LATTER ON POROSITY. MENTION IS MADE OF THE DEMANDS FOR PREPARATION IN STATIONARY PURMILL MIXERS AND FREQUENT CONTROL OF AIR CONTNET WHICH HAVE BEEN INCORPORATED INTO THE DRAFT OF SUPPLEMENTARY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CONCRETE ROAD CONSTRUCTION. /FG/RRL/
