RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ESTIMATION OF QUALITY OF CONCRETE IN FINISHED STRUCTURES
THIS IS A GUIDE FOR THE ENGINEER IN THE SELECTION AND USE OF PROCEDURES WHICH BE SHOULD ADOPT WHEN ESTIMATING THE QUALITY OF CONCRETE IN FINISHED STRUCTURES. THE STRENGTH LEVEL OF THE CONCRETE SHOULD BE DETERMINED ON THE BASIS OF RESULTS OBTAINED FROM TESTS ON CORE CYLINDERS DRILLED OR CUBES SAWED FROM THE STRUCTURE. IT IS USUALLY REQUIRED THAT AN INVESTIGATION SHOULD ALSO COVER OTHER PROPERTIES. STATIC BEHAVIOR FACTORS AND MATERIALS ENGINEERING ASPECTS, AS WELL AS STATISTICAL CONSIDERATIONS, SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT. IT IS ONLY TO A VERY SMALL EXTENT THAT SPECIFICATIONS INDICATE THE CORRESPONDING STRENGTH OF THE CONCRETE WHICH MAY BE EXPECTED IN THE STRUCTURE ITSELF. /AUTHOR/
