MORPHOLOGICAL STUDY ON HYDRATION OF TRICALCIUM SILICATE
IN ORDER TO EXAMINE THE MORPHOLOGY OF HYDRATES IN HARDENED C3S PASTE, EXPERIMENTS WERE PERFORMED USING A C3S SMPLE HAVING A NARROW PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION. THE HYDRATE PHASES IN C3S PASTE COULD BE DIVIDED INTO THREE TYPES WHICH ARE INNER C-S-H, OUTER C-S-H, AND CALCIUM HYDROXIDE CRYSTAL. THE LATTER TWO MAKE UP THE OUTER PRODUCT AND SEEM TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE STRENGTH OF HARDENED PASTE. /CCR/
