STRENGTH OF CONCRETE UNDER COMBINED STRESS
MEASUREMENTS OF THE STRENGTH OF ONE CONCRETE UNDER CONVENTIONAL TRIAXIAL COMPRESSION, "EXTENSION", AND TENSION PLUS BIAXIAL COMPRESSION ARE DESCRIBED. THE CONCRETE SPECIMENS HAD A WATER/CEMENT RATIO OF 0.47 AND AN AGGREGATE/CEMENT RATIO OF 3.9, AND WERE TESTED IN A MOIST CONDITION AT FOUR AGES, 7, 14, 28 AND 56 DAYS. RELATIONSHIPS ARE GIVEN FOR THE DEPENDENCE OF THE FAILURE STRESSES O THE PARTICULAR CONCRETE TESTED UPON (1) THE APPLIED STRESSES AND THE SPECIMEN AGE, AND (2) THE APPLIED STRESSES AND THE COMPRESIVE STRENGTH OF THE CONCRETE AT ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE. /CCR/
