PREDICTION OF CREEP BEHAVIOR IN CONCRETE FROM SONIC PROPERTIES
A METHOD IS PRESENTED WHICH RELATES CREEP BEHAVIOR OF CONCRETE IN AXIAL COMPRESSION WITH ITS VISCOELASTIC PROPERTIES BY VIBRATING THE CONCRETE SPECIMENS AT RELATIVELY SMALL AMPLITUDES. ASSUMING THAT CONCRETE IS VISCOELASTIC, THEN A RELATIONSHIP SHOULD EXIST BETWEEN THE CREEP PROPERTIES AND THE SONIC PROPERTIES. THE CORRELATIONS OF SONIC AND CREEP PROPERTIES ARE SUPPORTED WITH EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS.
