DETERMINING THE MODULUS OF ELASTICITY OF CONCRETE BY ULTRASONIC METHODS /IN RUSSIAN/
VELOCITIES OF LONGITUDINAL ULTRASONIC VIBRATIONS IN CONCRETE SPECIMENS, FOR FREQUENCIES OF 100 KHZ AND 150 KHZ, WERE MEASURED TO DETERMINE THE DEPENDENCE OF DYNAMIC MODULI OF ELASTICITY ON STRESS LEVEL. THE KNOWN RELATION BETWEEN SOUND VELOCITY, DENSITY AND POISSON RATIO FOR EXTENDED HOMOGENEOUS BODIES WAS USED AS BASIS FOR CALCULATIONS, WITH CONSTANT VALUE OF POISSON RATIO EQUAL TO 0.18. RELATIONS WERE ESTABLISHED BETWEEN RELATIVE DIFFERENCES OF THE SOUND VELOCITIES IN UNLOADED AND LOADED SPECIMEN AND THE STRESS LEVELS IN PLAIN CONCRETE AND PRESTRESSED SPECIMENS LOADED BY AXIAL TENSILE AND COMPRESSIVE FORCES. RELATIONS ALSO WERE ESTABLISHED BETWEEN THE DYNAMIC AND STATIC MODULI OF ELASTICITY OF CONCRETE, INSTANTANEOUS AND "ELASTICITY/PLASTICITY," FOR VARIOUS PRESTRESSING LEVELS AND STRESS LEVELS. INFLUENCE OF PRESTRESSING LEVEL ON INCREASE OF STATIC AND DYNAMIC MODULI OF ELASTICITY IS PRESENTED AND DISCUSSED. RATIOS OF CORRESPONDING STATIC AND DYNAMIC MODULI OF ELASTICITY VARIED BETWEEN 0.87 AND 1.05. APPLICATION OF ULTRASONIC TECHNIQUE FOR COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF STIFFNESS OF CONCRETE STRUCTURES IS RECOMMENDED. /AUTHOR/
