TESTS ON FINISHED CONCRETE
THE PURPOSES IN MAKING TESTS ON FINISHED CONCRETE ARE TO DETERMINE (1) THE STRENGTH AT A PARTICULAR TIME, AS A PREREQUISITE TO OPENING A PAVEMENT TO USE OR REMOVING SUPPORTS, AND (2) ULTIMATE QUALITY AND UNIFORMITY. METHODS FOR MAKING COMPRESSION AND TRANSVERSE TESTS ARE DISCUSSED AND THE PRACTICE IN 12 STATES HAVING LARGE HIGHWAY PROGRAMS IS SUMMARIZED.
