REACTIONS OF TOBERMORITE GEL WITH ALUMINATES, FERRITES, AND SULFATES
TOBERMORITE GEL, FORMED BY HYDRATION OF PASTES OF TRICALCIUM SILICATE, WILL REACT CHEMICALLY WITH ALUMINATES, FERRITES, AND SULFATES BOTH DURING AND AFTER FORMATION OF THE GEL. CHANGES IN EXTERNAL FORM OF THE GEL WERE OBSERVED BY ELECTRON-MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION OF THE GEL PARTICLES AND SURFACE REPLICAS OF PASTES. SULFUR APPARENTLY SUBSTITUTES FOR SILICON; ALUMINUM AND FERRIC IRON APPARENTLY SUBSTITUTE FOR BOTH SILICON AND CALCIUM. /PCA/
