SHEAR CONNECTIONS IN HAUNCHED COMPOSITE MEMBERS
THE RESULTS OF AN EXPERIMENTAL AND ANALYTICAL STUDY ON THE BEHAVIOR OF COMPOSITE MEMBERS WITH A CONCRETE HAUNCH ARE PRESENTED. EIGHT PUSHOUT TESTS USING TWO STUD SIZES WERE PERFORMED. THE THEORETICAL ANALYSIS CONSISTED OF TWO APPROACHES, ONE USING AN ELASTIC ANALYSIS, APPLICABLE BEFORE CONCRETE CRACKING, AND THE OTHER AN ULTIMATE STRENGTH ANALYSIS. COMPARISONS WITH RESULTS OF TESTS BY OTHERS WERE ALSO MADE. DESIGN EQUATIONS AND GUIDES ARE PRESENTED FOR A SINGLE LINE OF STUDS AS WELL AS FOR MORE THAN ONE LINE OF STUDS. /BPR/
