CEMENT HYDRATION REACTIONS AT EARLY AGES
THE NEED FOR GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF THE EARLY HYDRATION REACTIONS OF PORTLAND CEMENT IS STRESSED, AND SOME OF THE MORE IMPORTANT FINDINGS ARE DISCUSSED. MUCH WAS LEARNED JUST FROM THE EARLY HEAT EVOLUTION, AND NOW, CONTINUOUS X-RAY DIFFRACTION SCANNING IS PROVING HIGHLY INFORMATIVE. ADMIXTURES, CRYSTAL IMPURITIES, AND REACTION TEMPERATURE HAVE SIGNIFICANT EFFECTS. PROMISING NEW TECHNIQUES OF INVESTIGATION ARE BEING DEVELOPED. /PCA/
