QUANTITATIVE DETERMINATION OF THE MAJOR PHASES IN PORTLAND CEMENTS BY X-RAY DIFFRACTION METHODS
IN EARLIER WORK, TWO METHODS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED FOR QUANTITATIVE DETERMINATION OF THE 4 MAJOR PHASES IN PORTLAND CEMENTS: ONE UTILIZING A COMBINATION OF CHEMICAL AND X-RAY DATA, AND ONE BASED ON X-RAY DATA ONLY. THE PRESENT PAPER DISCUSSES BOTH METHODS AND INCLUDES 7 MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS THAT HAVE BEEN MADE IN THEM SINCE THE EARLIER WORK. BY THE INCLUSION OF THESE NEW FEATURES A SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT HAS BEEN ACHIEVED IN THE CONSISTENCY OF THE RESULTS. /PCA/
