STUDIES OF THE PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF HARDENED PORTLAND CEMENT PASTE
A COMPREHENSIVE STUDY IS PRESENTED OF THE STRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES OF HARDENED PORTLAND CEMENT PASTE FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF COLLOID SCIENCE. THE RESULTS OF MEASUREMENTS OF ADSORPTION, HEAT OF ADSORPTION, NON-EVAPORABLE WATER AND SPECIFIC VOLUME AS A FUNCTION OF DEGREE OF HYDRATION YIELD FUNDAMENTAL PHYSICAL CONSTANTS WHICH ARE THEN APPLIED TO THE INTERPRETATION OF TESTS ON VOLUME CHANGE, COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH, PERMEABILITY, ABSORPTIVITY, AND FREEZING OF PASTES. /PCA/
