AN EXPLANATION OF THE TITRATION VALUES OBTAINED IN THE MERRIMAN SUGAR-SOLUBILITY TEST FOR PORTLAND CEMENT
AN EXPLANATION IS PRESENTED OF THE VARIOUS FACTORS THAT AFFECT THE SOLUBILITY OF PORTLAND CEMENTS IN THE MERRIMAN SUGAR-SOLUBILITY TEST. THE SOLUBILITY OF THE CEMENT AND LIKEWISE THE TITRATION VALUES ARE DEPENDENT UPON THE SODIUM CONTENT OF THE SOLUTION AT THE END OF THE SHAKING PERIOD WHICH IN TURN IS SHOWN TO BE DEPENDENT UPON OTHER CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF THE CEMENT AND THE METHOD OF CONDUCT OF THE TEST. /PCA/
