INTERPRETATION OF PHASE DIAGRAMS OF TERNARY SYSTEMS
A DISCUSSION IS PRESENTED OF PRINCIPLES INVOLVED IN THE INTERPRETATION OF PHASE DIAGRAMS, ILLUSTRATED BY HYPOTHETICAL SYSTEMS. METHODS ARE PRESENTED FOR ESTIMATING PHASE COMPOSITION AT ANY GIVEN TEMPERATURE WITHOUT TRACING THE COURSE OF CRYSTALLIZATION WHEN CRYSTALLIZATION IS SLUGGISH OR SOLID PHASE FAILS TO APPEAR. THE PAPER DEALS ONLY WITH CONDENSED SYSTEMS IN WHICH THE SOLID PHASES ARE PRACTICALLY IMMISCIBLE. /PCA/
