FLEXURAL VIBRATION OF UNRESTRAINED CYLINDERS AND DISKS
SOLUTIONS ARE GIVEN FOR THE FREE FLEXURAL VIBRATION OF A CYLINDER VIBRATING AS A ROD AND FOR THE FREE FLEXURAL VIBRATION OF A DISK VIBRATING AS A CIRCULAR PLATE. THE SOLUTIONS ARE BASED UPON THE MATHEMATICAL THEORY OF ELASTICITY. CURVES ARE GIVEN SHOWING THE CORRECTION FACTORS WHICH, WHEN APPLIED TO THE ELEMENTARY SOLUTIONS, WILL GIVE RESULTS IN AGREEMENT WITH THOSE OBTAINED BY MEANS OF THE MORE RIGOROUS SOLUTIONS GIVEN HERE. /PCA/
