ESTIMATION OF PHASE COMPOSITION OF CLINKER IN THE SYSTEM ALITE, BELITE, TRICALCIUM ALUMINATE, TETRA CALCIUM ALUMINATE FERRITE AT CLINKERING TEMPERATURES
BASED ON THE INVESTIGATION OF THE SYSTEM BY LEA AND PARKER, METHODS ARE GIVEN FOR CALCULATING THE PERCENTAGES OF SOLID PHASES AND LIQUID AT VARIOUS STAGES OF THE HEATING OR COOLING PROCESS IN THE FOUR-COMPONENT SYSTEM, AND FOR CALCULATING CLINKER COMPOSITION OF THIS TYPE UNDER VARIED CONDITIONS OF TOTAL OR PARTIAL "INDEPENDENT CRYSTALLIZATION"--THE LATTER PRODUCING VARIOUS GLASS CONTENTS. THE RATIONALE OF THE PROCEDURE IS GIVEN, PREFACED BY DEVELOPMENT OF ELEMENTARY CONCEPTS AND A DISCUSSION OF THE PROPERTIES OF TERNARY DIAGRAMS. /PCA/
