DEVELOPMENT OF A LOW-HEAT CEMENT WITH HIGH SULPHATE RESISTANCE
DEVELOPMENT WORK FOR PRODUCING A SLOW-HARDENING AND HIGHLY SULPHATE-RESISTANT PORTLAND CEMENT IS DESCRIBED. LITTLE BY LITTLE, CLINKER WAS BURNED ON AN INDUSTRIAL SCALE IN A ROTARY CEMENT KILN, SO THAT DEVELOPMENT IN RESPECT OF BURNING TECHNOLOGY AND CEMENT CHEMISTRY COULD PROCEED SIDE BY SIDE. CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING RESISTANCE TO SULPHATES, AGGRESSIVE CARBONIC ACID AND ALKALI ARE DISCUSSED. THE WORK DESCRIBED IN THIS ARTICLE LED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PORTLAND CEMENT WHICH FULFILLED THE RELEVANT REQUIREMENTS IN RESPECT TO HEAT EVOLUTION, STRENGTH, AND SULPHATE RESISTANCE. SINCE THIS CEMENT CAN BE MIXED WITH STANDARD PORTLAND CEMENT IN ANY PROPORTION, IT IS THUS POSSIBLE TO SATISFY THE REQUIREMENTS AS TO HEAT EVOLUTION OF LOW-HEAT CEMENT IN VARIOUS STAGES, WHILE AT THE SAME TIME THE BETTER STRENGTH PROPERTIES OF THE STANDARD CEMENT CAN BE UTILIZED. /AUTHOR/
